When you’re planning an event centered around a meal, one of your first worries is, “How much does catering cost? What are my options for high-end, affordable catering?” Kansas City fell in love with Parkway’s upscale take on comfort foods, and now they can get those favorites at their biggest moments, at accessible catering rates.

Our catering prices are per person, so we always recommend getting a headcount of your guests as soon as possible to help you select the menu that fits your event. With that in mind, we’ve created a wide range of packages designed to work with different party sizes and budgets, so you can find something that works for you.

There are two different ways you can serve your guests: with a plated meal or buffet-style. Whichever style you choose, Parkway offers different catering menus with prices to fit your needs and budget. To customize our meal, there are additional packages and upgrades you can choose to add onto the base catering fees.

Plated Multiple-Course Catering Service Prices

The plated service allows your guests to stay seated throughout the meal while our servers bring their courses to them. Our three options for plated catering prices per person include:

Two-Course Plated Meal: $25 per person

Serving your guests with one of our buffets allows everyone to serve themselves at their own pace and choose their own favorites. Our buffet-style catering services and prices include four different options:

Appetizer Buffet: Choose 2 at $15 per person, or choose 3 at $20 per person

Additional Catering Quotes: Add-Ons to Parkway’s Catering Packages

Beyond our standard catering menus and prices, we offer many additional services to make your event truly stand out. These are optional add-ons to the average catering cost per person listed above, but any (or all) of these services make a special moment unforgettable for you and your guests.

Here are four additional catering expenses you can consider when you book Parkway for your next event:

Rent the Scarlet Room or the Full Restaurant

Kansas City loves sinking into our red velvet booths in our lounge, the Scarlet Room, with a glass of wine, or savoring a breeze through our wall-to-wall windows in the main dining room at dinner. Your guests can have the same Parkway experience at your event — and you can have it all to yourselves.

Avoid the stress of hosting, and let Parkway handle everything for you. You can reserve the Scarlet Room or even the entire restaurant in addition to our catering services. The Scarlet Room can host up to 75 guests, and the entire restaurant can welcome a private party of up to 175 people.

In addition to your catering food cost, the fees for renting our event space are as follows:

  • $250 room rental fee for private usage of the Scarlet Room (exceptions may occur)
  • 22% gratuity and sales tax will be added to your total cost at the end
  • Any flowers, décor, theming, etc. are charged based on your requests
  • $25 confetti cleanup fee (if applicable)
  • $500 deposit for larger parties (exceptions may occur)

You must give 14 full days’ notice of cancellation to receive a full refund. If less than 14 days’ notice is provided, 50% of the estimated total cost of the party will be charged to the credit card held on file.

Bar and Beverage Catering Costs

An event isn’t complete without drinks to celebrate. A hot cup of coffee at your catered brunch, a perfectly-balanced cocktail at your birthday party, or a glass of wine at your rehearsal dinner — the meal should always be paired with the right drink.

We have plenty of bar add-on options for you to choose from, so there’s something to fit every group size and budget. Not sure what you might need? Don’t worry — we’ll work with you to choose the option that suits your needs.

Our bar packages are charged at an hourly rate, per person. We have three different options for bar and beverage packages that you can add on to your catering cost per person:

All-Inclusive Bar Package (Hourly pricing based per person, minimum 2 hours)

  • 2 Hours: $28 per person
  • 3 Hours: $32 per person
  • 4 Hours: $36 per person

Non-Alcoholic Beverage Package (Hourly pricing based per person, minimum 2 hours)  

$6 per person. Includes:

  • Coke
  • Diet Coke
  • Sprite
  • Dr. Pepper
  • Fruit Juices
  • Coffee
  • Iced Tea
  • Water

Beer & Wine Package (hourly pricing based per person, minimum 2 hours)

  • 2 Hours: $18 per person
  • 3 Hours: $24 per person
  • 4 Hours: $30 per person

Includes:

  • Selected Imported & Domestic Beers
    • House Wines (1 Red, 1 White)
    • Coffee
    • Soda
    • Iced Tea

CASH BAR:

All of our cash bars have a:

  • $75 set-up fee
  • $75 bartender fee

Unlike the bar packages, drinks at cash bars are paid for by your guests as they order. For those who aren’t imbibing, sodas and juices are always $3, and bottled water (still or sparkling) is available at your request. A full bar is available upon request.

Our 3 different cash bar prices are based on the quality of spirits served, ranging from House to Premium:

  • Domestic Beer $5
  • Craft/Imported Beer $6
  • Spirits (house) $7
  • Martini (up, neat, rocks) $9
  • Red/White Wine $9-10

Parkway Cash Bar 2 (Call)

  • Domestic Beer $5

Parkway Cash Bar 3 (Premium)

HOSTED BAR:

Drinks are priced à la carte, and are tallied by the bartender throughout event.

WINE SERVICE:

You may choose up to three wine selections from the Parkway Wine List to be poured for guests at current menu pricing. You would be charged for each bottle opened.

Add Live Entertainment to Your Restaurant Party Package

Music influences the mood of everyone in the room and sets the score for some of our most memorable moments. How do you want your guests to feel at your event? You can request a specific style of music to be played with our in-house streaming service, or, better still, bring the music to Parkway.

It’s alright if you’re not a venue booking professional and aren’t sure where to find a band or DJ to play your event — we’ll handle it. There are just two additional fees for this extra catering cost:

  • $50 booking fee (this does NOT include the cost of the band to play your event)
  • $50 equipment setup fee (if the band or DJ chooses to use Parkway’s equipment)

Let us know the type of music you’d like to have play at your event. We’ll find and book you a band or DJ based on your preferences, and we’ll take care of the details.

Have Our Affiliated Photographer Work Your Event

Book a professional event photographer to capture the moments shared with your guests at a discounted hourly rate when you mention our name. Parkway will make sure that your event is worth remembering, and a photographer will make those memories tangible for you.
