Your Guide to KC Restaurant Week

The Kansas City restaurant scene is a bit of a hidden gem. Kitchens across the metro area create delectable dishes at affordable prices. But, outside of Kansas City’s world-renowned barbecue, these restaurants typically don’t receive the recognition available in other cities.

KC Restaurant Week is an opportunity to change that. Running from January 10–19, 2020, this event gives consumers a chance to recognize that greatness of Kansas City food, all while doing good for the community. Hundreds of restaurants from all over Kansas City register as official participants, offering $15 and $35 three-course meals during KC Restaurant Week, with a portion of each sale going toward a local charity.

Of all the available options, we hope you’ll put Parkway Social Kitchen at the top of your list for Restaurant Week. Located on the beautiful Country Club Plaza, Parkway’s location, atmosphere and menu are perfect for any type of night out.

As you’ll see from this guide to KC Restaurant Week, Parkway is can’t-miss option.

Kansas City Restaurant Week FAQs

What is Kansas City Restaurant Week?

Restaurant Week is a national culinary celebration. It was started by the founder of Zagat, the world-renowned restaurant review website. The idea was to change the way people approached restaurants and give kitchens around the country a chance to show off their best stuff.

Kansas City began participating in its own restaurant week in 2010, and it has exploded since then. Today, KC Restaurant Week is an annual event to kick off the year in delicious style. Hundreds of restaurants around the metro participate each January.

It was common only a few years ago to associate KC food strictly with barbecue. But, while the barbecue here is the best in the world, there’s much more going on in kitchens around Kansas City than most people realize. This city is now home to more than five James Beard semifinalists — one of the most prestigious awards a restaurant or bar can earn — and we’re sure there are more on the way. KC Restaurant Week highlights these and other great spots. This city makes amazing food, and during Restaurant Week in KC, you have a chance to try it all in a unique way.

How it Works: Each participating restaurant prepares a special multi-course menu for lunch ($15) and dinner ($35) for Restaurant Week in Kansas City, and many have drinks specials to compliment the food. A portion of sales from each meal will support a local charity. For 2020 KC Restaurant week, that is The Don Bosco Centers.

When is KC Restaurant Week?

Restaurant Week is January 10–19, 2020. The week officially kicks off at lunch on the 10th, and it goes until dinner on the 19th. The KC Restaurant Week dates change each year, so always be sure to check on the schedule at the official website.

Who Participates in KC Restaurant Week?

Hundreds of restaurants participate in KC Restaurant Week, and the list changes every year. There are places all over the metro, from the Northland down to South KC, from Overland Park to Lee’s Summit. No matter where in the city you live, you can find a great restaurant near you or venture to a new part of the city.

There is a great range of culinary diversity in the participating restaurants, as well. Restaurant week highlights the variety of cuisine Kansas City has to offer, from traditional American grills to family-owned Vietnamese shops, upscale steakhouses to Asian kitchens. And, of course, the best barbecue in the world.

If you can try more than one place for Restaurant Week, you definitely should. But if you only have time for one, it has to be Parkway.

Can I Make KC Restaurant Week Reservations at Parkway?

Yes. You can make KC Restaurant Week reservations at Parkway by calling or making a reservation online.
