Welcome!
Parkway is committed to using only the freshest and highest-quality ingredients that are almost always from local partners.
Parkway’s mission is food with a sense of community. Offering elevated comfort foods and an intimate atmosphere channeling rustic elegance. Join us in the airy main floor dining space for brunch and bottomless mimosas. Stay for lunch out on the patio and split our famous pepper-jack-stuffed tater tots with a friend, then save some room for our favorite apple bourbon-glazed pork chop straight from the wood-fired oven. In the evenings, enter the red-velvet-adorned downstairs lounge for an expertly crafted cocktail.
Experience Parkway the way it’s meant to be — with good food, drinks, friends, and family.

John Hammack,
Executive Chef
Learn about our chef, John.
After 22 years at the Plaza’s iconic Houston’s and now as the Executive Chef of Parkway, John Hammack has a bit of a mantra: “Quality.”
A Kansas City native who spent ten years traveling with his wife and two children, Hammack returned to Kansas City with an appreciation of all things close to home. Especially in the kitchen.
“Local is better, because it’s always fresher,” Hammack says. “We get everything as close to Parkway as we can.”
Parkway Social Kitchen has shot to the forefront of the Kansas City food scene, serving guests elevated but comforting American fare that’s well-crafted and unpretentious, unlike most upscale dining. Hammack embodies this straightforward attitude. “No need to reinvent,” he says simply. “It’s all about doing it right.”
With a little kitchen warmed by a traditional wood-burning oven, Hammack says there’s no room for anything but the highest-quality, freshest ingredients. Hammack maintains a steadfast attention to detail and a commitment to fresh and locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible. Everything at Parkway Social Kitchen is made from scratch daily, and no corners are cut.
A meal at Parkway isn’t going to be some tiny, fanciful dish with ingredients you can’t pronounce. Hammack makes familiar food that’s honest, down to earth and perfectly executed.
